About MsJudy

MsJudy is a soapmaker that keeps nature in mind as she crafts a full line of natural soaps made using lye and rich vegetable oils. Since they acquired the family farm, Judy and husband Jim have enjoyed being in the outdoors with all its beauty. A reflection of that beauty if brought forth in Judy's soap line. Luffa slices are for those of you who need a scrubbing soap to get those hands or feet clean. The goats milk soap is made the old fashion way with goats milk and a touch of lavender. Bugs Don't Like This Soap has all the essential oils bugs don't like.

Several years ago, Judy was looking for a small busines to augment the family ranching business, since the doctor announced that she was "not a ranch hand" anymore. MsJudy had injured her shoulder and neck area while working with husband, Jim (aka oljim), on the property. Soap seemed to fit the bill since MsJudy was growing her own herbs and had a great love for the wildflowers in the pastures.

She began like most people that make soap with giving her soaps to family and friends. Those who loved her soap encouraged her to make soaps availaable to more people! From those small beginnings grew a full line of fragrant lovely soaps based on her ranch/farming background and love of fragrances that she remembers from her childhood growing up on a farm in Iowa and her experiences in Texas.

You hear about soap becoming an addiction but MsJudy says it's really more of a passion. Speaking personally you really get spoiled using your own soap for it leaves your skill feeling clean without being dry or itchy. Hubby Jim says the Reed home is the best smellin' house on the block! We at the Reed Family Ranch are doing our best to clean up this planet...one bar of soap at a time!

About MsJudy's Soaps

Soap is really fat or vegetable oils changed by a chemical reaction that takes place between oil and lye called sponification. My soaps are made with three basic oils: palm oil, coconut oil, and olive oil. I use a cold process method, a 24 hour insulation period followed by a six week cure period to neutralize the soap and make it gentle to your skin. It's a long process but gives such wonderful results.

In addition to the lye soap line, we offer luffa soaps. These are made using pure glycerin, luffa sponges and your choice of essential oils and fragrances oils. Luffa soaps are used to exfoliate the rough skin on your feet or get the dirt from under your nails after digging in the garden.
