Report on 2006-2007 White-Tail Deer and Duck Season

In terms of the size and quality of trophy buck taken, 2006-07 was our best year ever! The weights of the buck and doe that were taken were up considerably. Overall - for the season (which lasted from the end of September 06 through the end of January 07) - there were 6 trophy buck, 3 cull buck, and 21 doe taken. Although the drought took its toll on the duck hunting for the year, there was still plenty of time for lots of outdoors fun and good times! A rare black white-tailed buck was taken by hunting club member Travis - and some of our hunting club members killed their biggest buck ever! A special 2006-07 photo album has been created for you to take a look at. Be sure to check out the cull buck and doe pics. The 2006-07 deer season photo album can be viewed by clicking here!

Rain Report
Whew!...2006 was a mighty tough year in terms of badly needed moisture and rainfall. The total recorded rainfall for the ranch area for 2006 was 29.0 inches. That's about 10.5 inches less our average annual rainfall of 39.5 inches. We're sure hoping for a better 2007! It's good to report that January '07 was a wet month for us. Our January rainfall was 7.3 inches which is about 4.8 inches over the average for the month of January.
Here's the totals for the most recent 8 years of ranch area rainfall:

2003 27.4
2004 54.2
