Spot Light on Reed Ranch Bucks

Jimmy Reed, Stephen Betz, Terry Ratliff and Lacy Hightower have all shot big bucks so far this season. Jimmy's deer was a 13 pointer. Steven's deer was a 10 point buck, Terry's deer was a huge 17 point, and Lacy's deer was an 11 pointer.

 


Black Buck Taken on Ranch

On the weekend of October 17-19 Travis Rape shot a black White-Tail deer. It weighed in at 130 lbs with 10pt. The estimated age of the buck is between 4 1/2 and 5 years.

 


2007 Hog, Varmint & Fishing Fun Weekend Dates

Here are the dates for the 2007 Hog, Varmint & Fishing Fun Weekends.

May 11, 12 & 13, 2007

The full cost for these hunts is $200 (2 nights/evenings) per person (spouses and supervised youth; under the age of 16; come at no additional charge), beginning Friday evening and lasting though Sunday morning. A $50 deposit reserves a spot.

The average annual rainfall in Navarro County, where the Reed Family Ranch is located, is about 39.5". We've received about 23.9" during the first 10 months of the year (from Jan'06-Oct'06).

That's about 8.7" BELOW the average rainfall for the year.

Purdy Cool Stuff

The Reed Family Ranch is a holistically managed ranch. The Ranch is managed by the Reed Family Group; Jim and Judy Reed, Jimmy Reed and girlfriend Ashley Fugate, James Reed, girlfriend Lacy Hightower, and daughter Kaylee, Jimmy and Traci Keele with son Hagen and daughter Anna.

Ashley Fugate is the new editor for the Reed Family Ranch Newsletters.

She is attending Tyler Junior College to pursue a degree in Graphic Arts & Photography.

January Duck Hunts Planned for Reed Family Ranch

For the first time, the Reed Ranch wetlands will be open up to group duck hunts. Two hunts are planned in January this year.
