From the very beginning, MsJudy and olJim have enjoyed being in the beautiful outdoors. A reflection of that beauty is brought forth in MsJudy's soap line. Luffa slices are for those of you who need scrubbing soap to get those hands and feet clean. The Goat Milk Soap is made the old fashion way with goats milk and touch of lavender. Bugs Don't Like This Soap has all the essential oils that bugs don't like. And, don't forget that personal gift for those special in your life. MsJudy can be emailed at msjudy@reedfamilyranch.com. |

Thanks to everybody for all the help in completing our deer counts this summer. Ya'll did great! Two night counts were completed by JimmyG and his crews, and over 200 deer were counted through daylight observations. The results from these counts has now been turned into the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for their records and issuance of special permits. They'll be using this information to issue doe tags for this year's doe harvest. Current plans are for the Reed Ranch hunting club members to take all the doe this year. Sure am looking forward to this coming deer season! Gonna be the best ever! |

Opening day for (gun) white-tailed deer season on the Reed Family Ranch is Saturday, October 1st. Our food plots and all the natural food supply provided good nutrition for the deer this year. Im'a betting that this is gonna be a great year of hunting! Can't wait! There'll be about 4 months of white-tailed deer hunting on the Reed Family Ranch this year, and the season will extend til the last day in January '06. Wow!,,,lotsa good hunting in store! |

This year's food plots consisted of about 5-6 acres of iron and clay cowpeas, planted in the red bird patch and the big food plot areas. By the first part of September, the deer had pretty much stripped the leaves off most of what was there - and by the mid-part of September, very little of the leaves were left. I spect, by the end of September, there won't be cowpeas's left at all! Lotsa good nutrition and food supply for the doe to fatten up before the winter hits, and for the buck to grow big antlers! |

The 10 ac Shark Lake has been drawn down for reefs and structures to be installed. Gonna be some great fishin' all around. There's already been some mighty fine bass caught this year, and the fishing isn't gonna do anything but get better! In addition to another fishing dock, a boat ramp was built. Sure am looking forward to some great fishing all around. Here's some photo's of the construction stage. Congratulations, JimmyG, for a great project and thanks or all your hard work!

The 23 ac Bearman Lake was drawn down to take advantage of the Spring flush. Vegetation and new growth will produce all sorts of food supply for waterfowl and other critters who like plenty of wetlands. This project is part of the Ranch's development efforts to diversify the landscape even more than it is now - with additional wetlands for waterfowl and all sorts of wildlife who enjoy living in and around sloughs and low depth lakes. Here's some photo's of the most recent draw-down. James is doing a great job with this project...way to go!
