From the very beginning, MsJudy and olJim have enjoyed being in the beautiful outdoors. A reflection of that beauty is brought forth in MsJudy's soap line. Luffa slices are for those of you who need scrubbing soap to get those hands and feet clean. The Goat Milk Soap is made the old fashion way with goats milk and touch of lavender. Bugs Don't Like This Soap has all the essential oils that bugs don't like. And, don't forget that personal gift for those special in your life. MsJudy can be emailed at msjudy@reedfamilyranch.com. |

Reports
from club members (from 16 sightings/reports of 87 doe
and 52 fawn) give a fawn-to-doe ratio of 60% - or about
1.7 doe per fawn. This is considerably different than
the fawn-to-doe ratio of 22% - or about 4.4 doe per
fawn - that appeared in our summer deer census counts.
Several twin fawns have also been reported by the club
members. Thanks to all the Reed Ranch hunting club
members for your willingness to help out! Ya'll did great! |

B.C.
Davis, Reed Ranch hunting club member, was suprised
when he was attacked by a wounded hog on opening day
of deer season. This attack occured after, what was
considered a kill shot, a careful aim failed to produce
a dead hog. A knife
fight to the death was finally won by the 6 ft 3" 300
lb hunter. This tough hog was killed after
a battle that lasted over 200
yds of the Reed Ranch's south pasture! During
this intense battle, the hog was beat with B.C.'s "out
of ammo" gun and the hog ran off with B.C.'s
knife! B.C. was quoted at the campsite
as saying "That was my dad's knife and that hog
really made me mad. I wasn't gonna let him get
away with it!". |

It's hoped that wintering birds on the Reed Ranch will be in better shape because of the new timed feeder that's been installed and being maintained by MsJudy and olJim. The platformed setup and the visiting birds can be viewed from the Reed Ranch treehouse that overlooks the high hill just east of the campsite. More photo's
to follow! It's hoped that this'll present even more
great opportunities for bird photography and viewing! |

Some
of you may be old enuff to remember the long roap swings
that hung from neighborhood trees and captured the attention
of young'uns for hours! Yep, you don't see many of those
around anymore. That's the reason one of those ol-timey
roaps swings has been hung on one of the monster oak
trees at the Reed Family Ranch campsite. Youth, kids,
grandkids, (and wannabe kids, too) all love it! The time
honored tradition of "who can throw the roap high
enuff?"
was upheld by son James, who finally looped and tied
the two long suspension roaps. Already - there's been
many hours of swingin' and pushin' fun - with grandkids
yelling "higher-higher!".
