Here's the rates for being included (for two nights of hunting).

Supervised Youth 16-18; pay 50% of full fee.
Over 18; pays full fee.
$50 deposits (non refundable) are required to confirm things for you. Ranch hunting club members may be included on these weekends.
The time frames for the weekend is Friday night through Sunday; with a departure time of around noon on Sunday, with two nights included. All the food preparation is potluck, so bring your own and share! There's water and electricity at the campsite, as well as a stove, barbeque grills, and clean-up areas. A restroom facility, covered and uncovered fire pits, concrete animal processing shed and a family style cooking/eating areas are also available.
Each weekend may be a little different because of the time of year, group interests, amounts of rainfall and moisture conditions, wildlife movement and bedding, what our scouts are finding before your visit, and other considerations.
Most of these "weekend git-togethers" are being planned around full-moon times of the month, and may include such things as hog huntin'; calling up varmints and predators; river, lake, and pond fishing; throw line and trotline fishing;
removing some coon and skunks; firin' and sharpshootin'; river bank exploring; small game hunting; running traps; having fun around the campsite and hanging out; and lots of opportunities for learning new stuff.
There's two rustic bunk houses for sleeping over, but space is limited, so check ahead for availability. Cots can also be put underneath the covered fire pit and wood deck area, and can be used as sleeping quarters if space isn't available in the bunk houses. Also, you're welcome to bring your own tents and camp-out close-by.
Although hogs freely roam the ranch during most times of the year, they are unlike deer in that their territory is much more widespread and they come and go. There'll be plenty of scouting done for you before you come to determine the level of hog activity on the ranch and your chance of taking one or more home. A ranch hog rating scale is used to demonstrate the level of hog rootin's and other signs of hog activity during the week prior to your hunt.
It's also possible for dog hunts to be scheduled depending on what else is happening on a given weekend. Dogs may be used for hunting hogs and racoon on the Reed Ranch. Spotlighting for coon and other varmints may take place depending on what else is happening on the Ranch that weekend.
Varmint hunting includes the hunting of six primary species: racoon, bobcat, fox, coyote, nutria, and swamp rabbit. Varmint calling on the Reed Ranch normally involves racoon, bobcat, fox, coyote and crow. Reed Ranch trapping is done primarily for racoon and hog during some parts of the year, so come prepared to see how active the traps have been recently.
Floods come periodically on the Reed Ranch. When flooded conditions develop, Ranch conditions change drastically; allowing the wildlife to be concentrated on hill land, making hunting and viewing even more opportunistic.
The Reed Ranch has accommodated small, medium, and large size groups in the past. There's something to do for most anybody that enjoys the outdoors. The Ranch wants everybody to return home just as safe and sound as when you left; therefore, no drinking allowed! We're proud that we're a kid-friendly ranch! This is a great opportunity for youth and parents to get together for some outdoors fun. Kids can learn a lot about wildlife, nature, and respect for hunting by having a ranch hunting experience.
Don't forget to bring your camera if you like to photograph. There's lots to take pictures of, and a ranch or four-wheeler tour may be conducted, depending on the weather and other conditions.
We have a frequently asked questions web page that may answer some more of your questions. You may also have the opportunity to meet some of Ol Jim's Hunting Club Members, the Reed Family Group and learn more about what the Reed Ranch has to offer.![]()
None of these events are scheduled for October through January. During deer season (October-January) and duck season, the hog and varmint hunts are shut down for use of the hunting club members.The Ranch's whitetail deer hunting season (gun) extends from about the last weekend in September 'til the last part of January.
