REPORT ON GROUP DOE HUNT HELD ON DECEMBER 27TH!

Welp, bout all that was brought to the animal shed was a downed coyote by Craig. Hagen also shot a coyote and had a scary adventure with hogs at his hunting spot as he tried to retrieve his game.

However, no doe were taken, and some hunters saw no deer at all. Yikes! The deer appeared to be not moving at all. Dunno why this happens every once in a while, but it was unfortunate that it happened on the same day that the group doe hunt was held.

All the feeders and hunting spots were ready, all the hunters did a great job hunting and were ready, we had lots of fun sitting around and visiting; everybody and everything was ready.

The doe weren't ready though!

Here's some photo's of the weekend. Wow!,,the Reed Ranch is fortunate to have such good people out enjoying themselves in this great outdoors of ours. I sure did enjoy having everybody out and visiting with everybody.

Thanks to everybody who came out and spent your time with us. Here's some photo's from the weekend.

PRESCRIBED BURNS ON THE REED RANCH!

This is the season for prescribed burns. About 140 ac of the south pasture and east lanes have been burned to revitalize stuff, return some nutrients to the soil, and take off some of the dead stuff so fresh, new growth can take place.

Wow!,,we're excited about seeing the results when the Spring flush comes.

Here's some photo's of the burning and the burned areas. Son James Reed, who's trained as a firefighter, was the burn boss for these two burns. That's James laying a fire line there in the first photo.
